Demetrio Aiello has been Head of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Labs at Continental AG since 2016. His tasks include the development of an AI algorithm platform for computer vision, machine learning, data analytics and biometrics, the establishment of a Continental-wide cooperation and communication network, as well as partnerships with leading research institutions and universities in Europe, Asia and the USA.

 

For the passionate researcher and product developer Aiello, Artificial Intelligence is an essential factor for the mobility of the future; for him it is a privilege to shape the development of the future technologies in this field.

 

His career at Continental began in 1999 with its predecessor Siemens. One of his responsibilities was the development and market launch of the first European voice-controlled navigation destination input.

 

From 2007 to 2015, he represented Continental in the AUTOSAR Alliance (the AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture is a worldwide development partnership made up of partners from the automotive industry) and was responsible for setting up a new competence center with 150 AUTOSAR software experts.

 

Born in Italy, he holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of La Sapienza in Rome, Italy, and is fluent in English, German, Spanish and Italian.
