A French and German citizen, Prof. Gunnar Graef is a Serial Entrepreneur and Investor. He is one of the pioneers of the mobile internet in Europe. He is a Founding Partner of Deutsche Ventures and a Adjunct Professor at ESCP Europe lecturing Innovation management and Digital Leadership in Paris and in Berlin.
Gunnar supports technology entrepreneurs to build and grow companies. He is a Board Advisor of several companies in Europe and in the US. He is Ambassador of La FrenchTech and Juror of the Adenauer-De Gaulle Prize. Gunnar also supports a number of social and philanthropic initiatives with a specific focus on technology and education. He is part of the Responsible Leaders network of the BMW Herbert Quandt Foundation. Gunnar is a member of the Advisory board of Betterplace.org.
Gunnar founded IndexMultimedia in the late 90s. The company was introduced to the Paris StockExchange. Then, he co-founded DHL Globalmail with Deutsche Post. Under his leadership, the company grew to a 2bn€ revenues business operating in more than 200 countries. Later, Gunnar founded Airtag in France. The company was acquired by to Safran Group in 2016.
Gunnar started his career as Research Engineer at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technologies after studying Industrial Engineering and International Management in Paris, Berlin and Oxford. He also graduated from Ecole Nationale d’administration in France.
Gunnar is a proud father of two children and lives with his family between Paris and Berlin.
