Short bio:
Dr. Katharina von Falkenhayn is a Policy Expert of the Working Group on Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group of the German Bundestag.
Katharina advises MEPs in legislative processes and strategic decisions and supports them in conducting negotiations, concept and project development, public relations and budgetary issues.
Katharina began her career in 2003 as an expert in medicine and bioethics in the Study Commission on Law and Ethics in Modern Medicine of the German Bundestag. She is a contact person for questions on ethical issues, in particular reproductive medicine, bioethics and social issues. In the working group, she has written various concept papers on debates on values in policy-making.
Since 2005, Katharina has been a member of the Ethics Committee of the State of Berlin and responsible for patient and candidate rights in drug trials. She was elected honorary chairwoman of the association donum vitae Berlin-Brandenburg in March 2017. This is an association that supports pregnant women in need.
Katharina holds a degree in Business Administration from the European Business School and Philosophy from the University of Augsburg as well as from the Munich School of Philosophy. She also holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy.
